Christmas at MDL!
We continue to praise and thank the Lord for blessing us with another incredible year! His faithfulness, protection, mercy, provision, grace, and unfailing love are the reasons we rejoice. We are not only excited to celebrate all that the Lord has done this past year at Maison de Lumiere but also what He has done within our neighborhood, street kids, and organization as a whole. Because our Savior, Jesus Christ was born, we have hope amidst tragedies and joy amidst constant turmoil. God has been so gracious to us and our response is one of thankfulness and celebration.
Christmas is just around the corner and we can’t wait to see what God has in store for this year’s festivities! As you can see from the pictures and videos, we had a great time last year and are eager for this year’s events to begin.
- On Wednesday, December 12th we have a very Special Feeding Program planned where we will feed 300 kids from our neighborhood. There will be dancing, singing Creole Christmas carols together, sharing a delicious meal, and giving out goodie bags to each of the kids.
- On Friday, December 14th we will host the MDL School Christmas Program which will include all 70 of our school kids. This will be a special time for the students to proudly perform their skits and songs for their families, eat a special meal together, and receive a small gift.
- Then on Saturday, December 15th we will host our 6th Annual Christmas Pageant full of singing, dancing, and our Nativity Play, complete with live animals and a stellar cast of MDL actors. This will be our chance to share the hope of Christ to the community and we pray that many would come to know Christ’s saving grace that day. For the children in our boys’ and girls’ homes, we look forward to having our traditional gift exchanges and a special Christmas meal together. Our hope is that Christ would be magnified through all these events and that our children and community would experience joy in the midst of the daily hardships that can envelop them.
We’re inviting individuals, small groups, churches, and businesses to join us in our efforts this year to provide gifts and the donations needed to produce our three special Christmas programs aimed at sharing Christ’s love with our community and to bless the children in our homes and our hard working staff with Christmas gifts. To help us reach our fundraising goal of $10,000, visit this page.
If you are interested in doing a donation drive to buy gifts for the children or staff members, you can email Gabrielle Nord at firstname.lastname@example.org to receive a Christmas request list.
Again, thank you so much for supporting Child Hope International and continually providing for us so that we may continue to share the love of Christ with the children in our homes and our community! We pray that these children will be the next generation to transform Haiti with the love of Christ as their catalyst. Merry Christmas! Joyeaux Noel!
