Hurricane Matthew Update
It has been over a week since Hurricane Matthew ripped through Haiti. We praise God for sheltering our children and staff during the storm. Now that the rain and winds have passed, they are returning to their daily lives of work and school.
We are in awe of the generosity you have shown during this time. We thank you for your gifts, which will be used in a variety of ways to help with relief efforts.
Donations will in part go to help provide for housing needs for our staff’s own family members effected by the storm. This will include repairing walls and replacing roofs for people we know and love. We will also use donations to support local Haitian-led relief efforts to the south. In addition to the devastating loss of life experienced in the south, many people are without homes and access to food and clean water. Finally, we will partner with organizations as we look to the future of these hard-hit areas by addressing crop replanting and livestock replacement.
Please continue to pray with us as Haiti recovers from this disaster.
In the weeks and months ahead, we are unsure of how Hurricane Matthew will leave residual hardships for Child Hope. We predict the operational expenses of feeding and caring for our children may increase as resources and access may be limited. If you would like to give to our general ministry needs, please visit our donation page and select Where the Funds Are Most Needed.
Thank you for your love, prayers, and support.
