The spiritual well-being of the children and families we serve is a top priority.
We have a pastor on staff who makes home visits to the families in our Family Hope program. During a visit he takes prayer requests, sings worship songs, and leads a Bible study. Some of the themes he will cover this year include:
-trusting God during uncertainty
-motivating families to have a good reputation and testimony
-being content and thankful to God
He encourages the families to pray together, do a family devotional, and get involved in their local church. He also calls the family a few times a month to check in.
An equally important part of his job is leading a weekly time of devotion with our staff. This is so critical right now given the instability in Haiti. He is able to interrupt the chaos going on outside to center the staff in God’s peace and love. As a result, they are better able to serve the children and families in their roles!
