During the summer our staff Pastor put on a Bible trivia competition, called “Bible Genius.” The children from the Family Hope program were invited to come back to our offices to participate in the challenge.
The questions were all related to the book of Ephesians. Many of the children recited the key memory verse flawlessly:
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8)
There were prizes handed out and a lot of joy. One child said the contest got her reading her Bible more and drew her closer to God. Others are already looking forward to the next contest! One aunt had this to say, “Ten years ago I left the Christian church… With this contest, you’ve made me more aware, because while the children are preparing the questions, I’m always available to accompany them. I hope one day I’ll go back.” This is our hope for the contest: that children and their families would develop a deeper relationship with God.
