Last summer our Ministry Development Coordinator organized a trivia game called “Bible Genius” for all of the children in our Family Hope program. It was a fun time of for the children to deepen their understanding of scripture while competing against their friends. The children were awarded cash prizes for their efforts.
Two sisters decided to pool their winnings to make a wise investment for their family: a goat. Goats are a smart investment because they are resilient animals and any offspring can be sold for profit.
In January, their goat gave birth to a healthy kid. The sisters rejoiced at the arrival of the newest member of their livestock family. But beyond the joy of new life, they saw an opportunity for further economic empowerment. Once the baby goat is weaned, they plan to sell it, expanding their family’s financial resources.
Their story serves as a testament to the power of knowledge, collaboration, and resourcefulness. In a country where opportunities may seem scarce, these sisters prove that with determination and creativity, even a simple trivia game can pave the way for a brighter future.
