We are thrilled to announce a new initiative led by our staff pastor to empower parents in Haiti through a transformative parenting training program. This program is aimed at church-going parents who have children currently living in orphanages.
Child Hope International has translated an existing, impactful training into the Haitian context and Creole language with the hope of helping parents understand God’s vision for families.
The first step in sharing this training with parents is to introduce it to pastors in Haiti. We have connected with 80 pastors from various regions, including Grand Goâve, Les Cayes, Aquin, and Port-au-Prince. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with pastors expressing a strong desire to implement this training within their congregations. This widespread support underscores the critical need for such resources and the potential for profound impact on communities throughout the country.
Despite the current insecurity in Haiti, this initiative represents a beacon of hope. The eagerness of local pastors to bring this training to parents highlights a collective commitment to family reunification and community resilience. By providing parents with essential tools and guidance, we are taking a significant step toward reducing the number of children in orphanages and strengthening the fabric of Haitian society.
