Because of the incredible generosity of our supporters, we are thrilled to introduce three new students joining our program this year! After years of living in an orphanage, Mireille* was finally able to return home. She was reunited with her mother and two sisters, Myrlande and Mariette. Mireille began thriving in her studies, and her mom, who had secured a stable job, was hopeful about their future as a family.
Then, last spring, just as Mireille finished her first year of high school, violence erupted in their community. The factory where her mom worked was forced to close indefinitely, and suddenly, the future looked uncertain again. Without income, Mireille’s mom feared that she wouldn’t be able to keep all three girls in school.
Thanks to donors like you, Mireille, Myrlande, and Mariette are all back in school this year!
Myrlande is entering her final year of high school, Mireille is beginning her sophomore year, and Mariette is starting 8th grade—each determined to make the most of this opportunity to learn.
With your support, their family’s rent is covered, they have food to eat, and they can focus on learning without the constant worry of financial instability. Our social worker recently visited the school to check in, and the girls expressed their immense gratitude for the chance to continue their education.
