On November 20th, Child Hope International had the honor of joining the Haitian government and members of the Working Group on Child Protection (GTPE) to commemorate International Children’s Rights Day in Haiti’s South Department.
Every year, the world marks this day in recognition of the 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child. This year’s theme was “Ansanm n ap kontinye chanje lavi timoun yo,” which means together, let’s continue to transform children’s lives.
Nearly one thousand children gathered to participate in games, group discussions, and hands-on workshops. The festivities ended with a lively soccer match between children and community members.

For CHI, this day represented both a celebration and a milestone. Although our work in the South is still new, we were grateful to stand alongside several partners, united in a shared vision: safe, supported families and thriving communities where children can grow up loved and protected. As we expand our presence in the region, events like this deepen relationships, build trust, and reinforce our commitment to strengthening families.
Together, we truly can continue transforming children’s lives!
