Recently several members of the Child Hope International team participated in a virtual Trauma Competent Care training offered by Back2Back Ministries. The five-day training was provided completely free of charge, making this valuable resource accessible to organizations serving vulnerable children and families in Haiti.
Our staff found the training incredibly helpful and practical. As CHI continues walking alongside children and families who have experienced hardship, trauma-informed care remains an important part of how we serve. The training provided deeper insight into how trauma impacts behavior, relationships, and development, while also equipping our team with tools to respond with greater compassion, understanding, and care. We are grateful for opportunities like this that strengthen our staff and ultimately help us better support the families we serve.
